The Role

 

The purpose of the General Manager role at the USTA National Campus is to strategically lead and oversee the operations, programs, and initiatives that align with the USTA's vision and strategy for the growth of tennis. As the steward of the National Campus, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering an environment that not only champions the sport but also contributes significantly to the USTA's broader mission.

 

Lead, oversee, and integrate the following areas:

 

Strategic Leadership & Operations

  • Develop and execute strategies that position the USTA National Campus as a central driver in the growth and development of tennis.

  • Lead and manage daily campus operations to ensure a best-in-class experience for players, coaches, partners, and guests.

  • Oversee campus-wide integration of USTA goals and programming, aligning local execution with national strategic objectives.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets and financial planning to ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.

  • Identify opportunities for growth and revenue generation that support the campus mission and USTA initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Industry Collaboration

  • Cultivate strong relationships with USTA leadership, staff, volunteers, partners, and the wider tennis and racquet sports ecosystem.

  • Engage with industry leaders to position the National Campus as a collaborative venue for tennis, Padel, Pickleball, and emerging racquet sports.

Community Engagement & Program Development

  • Lead the development and expansion of inclusive programming that reaches players of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.

  • Promote tennis participation through creative events, educational initiatives, and accessible community outreach.

  • Ensure the National Campus reflects the USTA’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Brand Representation

  • Serve as a public ambassador of the USTA and the National Campus.

  • Champion the campus as a premier destination for training, events, innovation, and community engagement within the sport.

Who You Are

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong background in tennis or related sports/industry involvement.

  • Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and operations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.

  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution.

  • Committed to fostering inclusive and collaborative environments.

  • Ability to work on-site full-time at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL.

  • Flexible and proactive, with a passion for growing the game of tennis.

 

Travel Requirements

 

Occasional travel required for workshops, conferences, tournaments, USTA meetings, and other organizational functions.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $170,000-$208,000 plus a potential ICP bonus. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify.  The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
